Google Voice Out through MJ

Google Voice Out through MJ
I have magicjack and google voice. I want to be able to use Google Voice as my only number for people to call me; and when I call out, I only want them to see my google voice number.
I understand that I can set up google voice forwarding for incoming calls to get forwarded to my magic jack number.
Is there a way that I can set up my magicjack so that when I dial out, the receiver only sees my google voice number?
Please respond as soon as you can. Thank you!

Calling via your MJ will only send your MJ phone number

There are two ways of doing what you want. Both are a little klutchy, but should get you the results you are looking for.
From your computer screen, log in to GV and dial out from there using the "Call" feature. That will call the number you enter and ring back to what ever phone you set up.
Or, you can call Google Voice from your MJ, dial "2" and enter the number you want to reach at the prompt.
A third, slightly more elegant way, but cheating, sort of, would be to use sipgate with the Xlitejack plugin from PCPhonesoft. Sipgate allows you to spoof your number, so my outgoing CID shows as my MJ number.
But if you are just looking to spoof your outgoing GV number directly from MJ, I would have to agree. The answer is no.

Does Sipgate charge for these outgoing calls?Darkman90808 wrote:There are two ways of doing what you want. Both are a little klutchy, but should get you the results you are looking for.

Yes it's 1.9 cents a minute. You could also use the google voice dialer in the sticky thread as this also works with sipgate and the xlite plugin and you will not be charged for the call. Sipgate has free incoming minutes but works as a nice backup to MJ if their call quality has any problems. I have not noticed the beeping sound at all when using sipgate with the MJ dongle. I have noticed the call quality with google voice can be spotty at times and I really don't use it all that much but it's nice to have options.

sabresfan... thanks for responding to the question re: cost for outgoing calls. I intended to mention it.
Are you referring to the dialer add-in for Firefox? I'll have to go back to the sticky and take a refresher. FWIW, I also use a dialer from my cell phone so all my calls are routed through GV and show it as my CID.
I've found call quality to be a little sketchy in the past using GV with MJ, but usually I blame the MJ. As much as I love my little bundle of joy, I still have inconsistent results.

Magic Jack, at least in my case always does a lousy job of connecting to Google Voice when calling out. It takes at least 30 seconds to connect and there's a noticeable delay on calls going out through GV. (Directly calling other landlines and wireless numbers work fine.) I've switched to using Xlite, GVout and the xlite MJ plugin (to use the analog phone) to make outgoing calls (sorta) through Gizmo 5 to Google Voice. The GVout app lets you dial a number in xlite and then Google Voice calls your gizmo5 number back and connects your call. Free calls for now
If you don't have a gizmo5 account you'll have to wait or buy one off ebay, they aren't accepting new members.
