won't start, slows my computer, help!

Post by raddoc888 »

I have three laptops. I was able to set up my magic jack on two but have not been successful on my netbook.
It can never finish installation and freezes my computer.
I have tried removing the software and installing the upgrade as
recommended on this forum but without success.

Any help and suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Art

And the netbook is running what operating system vs. the laptops? Have you applied the "upgrade" for Win7 (assuming your netbook is running Win7)? Check out the update on www.magicjack.com.

From past experiences, when mj slows down the computer is because there is another program that is having conflicts with mj. It is usually multimedia programs (music, video downloads, antivirus, etc) causing the damage. have you tried un-installing programs from your laptop? In some cases I had to reformat the laptop and reinstal win Xp and then mj for it to work.

Nero is known to cause conflicts - although I have Nero (OEM version) installed on my WinXP Home machine that runs MJ and it works fine. But others have had to remove Nero to get MJ working.
