MJ "downgrade" + Run w/o Dongle?

Has anyone tried "downgrading" (http://upgrades.magicjack.com/upgrade/downgrade.exe) and trying to run w/o the dongle? This downgrade is a .80 version as opposed to the latest .90 version so I'm thinking that it might work but before I go and try, just checking if someone has already done it.
