Run this downgrade and your contact list should come back. It did for me.

Does anyone still have this downgrade file? That link is no longer valid.

On it's way to you via email...
It is a tad over 7meg so hopefully your email account won't reject it..
Maybe the moderator will have a place for me to post it here for others to use.

I PMed you an upload link, and I will host it on one of my shared hosting accounts for the MJS Community.

I got your PM and I tried the link you sent me to U/L the file. After I find the file and click upload, nothing happens. It just sits there and no U/L is started...

UPDATE: It didn't to want to work with IE8. I then tried it with Firefox and it worked..
So you should have the file now. Feel free to post it for the group.

Thank you

MagicJack 1.80.518.0 - 01-19-2010

Post by ryanmac »

Thanks to bitstopjoe, here is the MagicJack downgrade file that used to be located at http://upgrade.magicjack.com/upgrades/downgrade.exe before the link expired last week.

This is MagicJack 1.80.518.0, dated 01-19-2010. It will bring back AddressBook.xml, although all of your existing contacts will be deleted.

I was initially going to host this on a shared hosting account, although given the demand, and the file size, I feel as though that would largely affect my monthly transfer rates... so I have uploaded it to a couple "Free Hosting" sites.

When I ran the downgrade last month ALL of my contacts returned and none were deleted.. So your mileage may vary....

I was glad to help.....Always am. Despite what some assholes on here think about me.

I lost my contact list yesterday when I got the update. This morning when I plugged the magic jack back in my contact list reappeared on the soft phone. The update didn't help my call quality though, it's still choppy.
