Wierd!

Post by magnum68 »

I called my wife's job using MJ and the calls go through. Her job's line picks up(Automated) which asks for the extension # I want. I key in the the 4 digit ext# and it tells me that it's an invalid ext#. I tried several ext#s and still got the same message. But when I call using my Vonage phone it works. I key in the 4 digit ext# and I get connected. I even tried this with two different phones that I have on MJ and Vonage and I get the same results. And my MJ softphone says no 911. This is weird. BTW, my wife's area code is the same as my MJ's area code. I did reset MJ and even unplugged it and still no luck. Anyone ever had this happen to them?

MJ has an issue with touch-tones (from external analog phone) during some toll-free numbers & some regular numbers. Try to use the MJ's softphone to enter the touch-tones to see if it solves your problem for now. MJ needs to fix the touch-tones issue during calls for its users.

LikeMagic, I just tried it on the softphone and it worked. But it still won't work on my regular phone. I hope they can fix this issue sometime soon.

I had this problem some time back. I upgraded my 900MHz cordless with a new 5.8GHz (GE) and the problem vanished.

I can concur that I have experienced the same problem trying to put in an extension after I connect to the number. A regular touch-tone analog phone must have a hair-trigger on the buttons because it is like you held down a button too long and it interpreted the button as double-pressed. Using the softphone keypad was the only way to enter extensions after a call is connected. Sure hope MJ gets the problem fixed soon, so I don't have to go out and buy a 5.8 GHz new phone.
