need help setting up RTP300 with MJ

I am a new MagicJack user.... I have pulled my SIP credentials from the MJ and have unlocked a RTP300... I tried my credentials with MJMD5 and X-Lite and everything worked fine... So I know the credentials are good... I have 3.1.22 firmware on the RTP300... I have set all the settings up as posted in a link here http://www.phoneservicesupport.com/link ... t5942.html I am at the point now where the unit will not register... Am I missing something? Has something changed since this was written? What steps do I need to take to make this combo work? Any help would be appreciated...

Not sure about your firmware version but IIRC the RTP300 is distressingly similar to the PAP2 so far as SIP provisioning is concerned.

You can find a great deal more info about using PAP2 with MJ than the RTP300.

Iould look at some of the more popular guides dealing with AP2 that can be found on this site.

Trying to get MJ SIP info. I have tried a number of different approaches without success. Specifically pmdump, Sloth's v1.6 etc. Any help you can give I would be much appreciated. I have windows 7 64BIT

I used Sipinfo 1.6 beta to pull mine... Did about 5 dumps... My dumps were about 18 megs and if you follow the directions, you should be able to find your sip credentials... On another note, I was able to get my rtp300 working by proxying to mjmd5 on another computer... So it looks like I need to get MJMD5 working on my rtp300 now so I can eliminate the need for a desktop... Anyone know how to get MJProxy on the RTP300?

You need a DD-WRT or Tomato capable router to run MJMD5. Wrt54g before version 5 or Asus WL520GU are good candidates. I use the asus one and it works flawlessly and plus the usb port allows sharing printer wirelessly and external hard drive without a computer running.

The RPT is not DD-WRT capable, so you will need a primary router with DD-WRT or TOMATO to run MJMD5. Here's the problem with running two routers...

I was using an RTP300 for awhile and it kept having connection problems with my primary router. It didn't like it when the DHCP server periodically changed the IP address from the primary router and the RTP could no longer connect to the internet without resetting the RTP.

If you are using the RTP with another router you will need to use a fixed IP address assigned to your RPT's MAC address. You will set this up in your primary router. Be sure that the IP address you assign is outside of the range of your DHCP server on the primary router or it won't work. I used 192.168.1.254 for example (my primary router's DHCP range was 192.168.1.100 to 125). That way both DHCP servers play nice together.

Also, in order for you to manage the RTP from a PC outside of it's local IP (a PC connected to your main router) you will need to enable Remote Router Access under the Administration tab on the RTP as well. The login address will now be changed to http://192.168.XXX.XXX:8080/ (replace the XXX.XXX with the fixed IP address you selected in the above step). No other settings in the RTP will need to be changed.

This should allow you to use a MJMD5 flashed router with your RTP, eliminating the need for an external PC running mJ Proxy. Hope this helps!!!
