Warning after automatic upgrade from MJ

Post by ericwu »

I have been using MJ nearly a year and I use HP Thin Client for quite sometime and has been wrrking bautifully. All of sudden I got no connection from MJ and everytime when I restart, it comes out a "Warning : Must Plug In Magic Jack into USB". I MJ was plugged in and all USB port works fine but just the MJ won't start.

FYI: I have HP Thin Client with 512/512 and runs on Windows XP embedded.

Anyone can help me is greatfully appreciated!

It happens sometimes. I just re-plug it into the USB port and it comes up fine. Not sure why it happens, but it works most of the time.

I am having a similar issue. SOMETIMES - when my system reboots it will tell me that the MJ is not plugged in.
SOMETIMES it will also hang the reboot during the memory test - the verbose boot screen appears on my system. I have to unplug the replug the MJ to continue the boot. Seems like it is a MJ issue right???

After months of chasing this I thing I have tracked it down to a hardware problem affecting the memory and NOT - really - NOT a MJ problem.

You might want to try dnldg HCL Memory test and running that.
http://hcidesign.com/memtest/download.html - the free version is fine.

The reason I suggest that one is that my problem sometimes stops if I reboot the system - as u would need to do to run a boot from CD test. It will always stop if I cold boot it. This one runs from windows.

good luck
