you need 80-100 Kbps up. See the magicJack FAQ at their home page and they talk about speeds.

Looks like you should be ok - but the question is what's the jitter? Run a jitter test and see if your connection is behaving. Plus your on a wireless connection so all bets are off because of issues with connection reliability.

What bandwidth speed is required to use magicJack?

Answer

A minimum bandwidth UPLOAD speed of 128 kb/s is required.

For the Upstream you need 256k your only at 128k, All you have to do is on the MJ panel switch it to Aircard(3G) instead of Normal(High-Speed).

I demonstrated MJ successfully to a friend through my laptop getting its internet tethered from my iPhone 3G and the quality was just the same as at home connected to my Cable internet...

Not true - last fall I was overseas that offered free "high speed internet" at 100Kb or I could pay 20 euros for 1-2Mb bandwidth. I figured that most of the time I would be doing email and the 100Kb worked fine. But I also tried both Skype and MJ over that connection. Skype voice worked fine - forget about video though. MJ, at that time did not have the aircard switch but still worked just fine (dongle-less which worked back then) on the 100Kb link. 256Kb couldn't hurt, but its not needed. What is needed to ensure decent voice quality is low jitter.
