Can All Magicjacks Be Used with ATA if SIP Info is Obtained?
I am a bit confused about this.
I have the SIP info for my personal MJ. It works perfectly with my SPA2102. I am not using anything other than the SPA. No mjproxy in my router, or any other software running.
I have the SIP info for a friend's MJ. It will not work.
When I use x-lite, my SIP info works, but my friend's info does not.
Is there something extra that needs done to make some of the more stubborn MJs work? Or, is it only possible to use certain SIP credentials?
Thank you.

Your only failure is not reading enough of the appropriate forum topics.JOFTAA wrote:I am a bit confused about this.

I have been reading so much I am seeing floaters in my eyes. While I appreciate your post, it would be nice if you could point me in the right direction instead of simply pointing out my failures. If I needed someone to point out my failures, I would have asked my wife instead of asking here.crackerjack wrote:Your only failure is not reading enough of the appropriate forum topics.JOFTAA wrote:I am a bit confused about this.

And, before I posted my question here, I used the search feature. Apparently I am not using the correct search terms.
That being said, the fact that I have the SIP info means that it should work with the SPA2102.genxweb wrote:All SIP info is the same. Though I will agree I have noticed some times it does not work as easy as it does for one to another. Out of the 100 + ones i have done I would say prob 10% give me some issues and I call MJ and have the reset stuff and they clear up.
When I setup X-Lite with my SIP info, no problem. When I simply substitute my info with my friends info, no dice. Technically, from what you are saying, my friend's SIP info should work as well.
Perhaps if I chat with MJ tech support while trying it, they can reset something and make it work. Interesting concept.
There's sip credentials and there's your account. Your mj account was most likely flagged during an update from June 09. Dongles purchased after that might or might not have had their accounts flagged.
Ones that are flagged have to have the additional mjmd5 patch - its that simple. I'd be very surprised if mj tech support can help you on this subject.

I guess this thread has gone to the dogs....
I'm here trying to learn. I got my MJ working thanks to the reading I did here, but I am not finding the proper thread for my question at the top of this thread.
If someone could please lead me to the proper thread, I would appreciate it very much.
By the way, mufon, the Trojan Magnums are good, but the ribbed ones are better. Wear it inside out for your pleasure, too.
