Hello Linda, welcome to the forum!

Can you please provide us with some more information?

Which operating system/version are you using? XP, Vista or 7
Do you use a router? If so which brand?
Type of internet connection; cable, dsl, etc.
Are you trying to us the MJ via hardwired or wireless setup?
Do you use a virus/security program and if so which one?

Knowing these specifics helps narrow down what the issue may be.

Thanks
Dan

You might also take a look at a post I made at this link http://www.phoneservicesupport.com/magi ... t7695.html .
If you scroll down you will see the post.

Often the solution can be as simple as making sure you are not using the short USB cable that came with the MJ and that the MJ is plugged into a USB port on the back of your computer. One other is to use a "powered USB hub" plugged into the back of your computer. If/when you are able to register and use the MJ, check your email for a confirmation letter from MJ. There is a link in the email that you will need to click (this verifies your email address) and then you should hopefully be good to go.

FYI , many threads have been posted on this site in regards to getting the MJ to start. I highly recommend using the "Search" feature of this site to find more info if you need it.

I hope this will help you. Please let us know if you have any more questions.

Linda,

What do you mean when you say you 'downloaded' MagicJack? There is a hardware componnt that needs to be purchased. Do you have that?

Good Luck.

I noticed that as well but I just "assumed" she meant after she plugged the MJ in it started to D/L it's lucky your software and then she got stuck at the registration screen. Or it never finished it's download.
Sounds like she may have some video driver issues causing her reg screen to go blue. At least that is what I surmised from her post...

Hope I didn't scare Linda off with my posts? Sure would like to help if possible in getting her MJ up and running.

You're almost there! You can talk either through a headset or through a regular phone plugged into the MJ adapter (dongle). On the MJ user interface, click on Menu, Volume/Headset Control, and select your preference of phone or headset.

I assume you can hear the other person on the call, that's a good sign, do you hear them through your phone handset or through a PC headset or speakers?

i pulled up the menu where i can control the handset or a headset. but it wont let me do anything. it is clicked on handset and wont let me change it. also i called my phone from the mj and i noticed the number showing up on caller id was different from the number that mj gave me. yes i can hear them through the handset but they cant hear me. i am still on my 30 day trial so i have a few days to get this running.

Hi Dee,
Let's eliminate the phone as the problem, can you do two things: a) plug the phone into a regular phone line and make a call, see if both the mouth piece and ear piece work, and b) try another phone in the MJ (either corded or cordless). Let's make sure it's not the phone that's the problem.

One other thing, are you "Dee" and "Linda A Parks", i.e., one and the same person but with two log-ins? The problems seem different (registration vs audio).
