Using Majic Jack on Laptop using Wireless internet

Hello, I am trying to use the Majic Jack on my laptop. I plug the phone line into the majic jack, then plug the usb into the USB. When I make a call, there is alot of static and the call is quite fuzy. Making a call on the laptop thru the mic and headset is fine, but when i use another phone either cordless or not, there is too much static.

I am using a D-Link router for wireless internet. Laptop is only 1 year old

Will the Majic jack work properly with a laptop or does it need to be hooked to a desktop.

If your calls using the mic/earphone of the laptop are good, then your laptop/MJ configuration is okay.

However, your problem with the phone is strange, since you can get good sound quality without them.

Are you using the same cord to plug in the various phones to the MJ? If so, that could be your problem.

You may have either one or two separate problems.

1) Your USB may not have enough current capability to power the phone. Corded phones especially older ones would tend to require more current.

2) While the current requirements of most cordless phones is lower there can be problems with their RF signal interfering with your wireless signal.

Of coarse perhaps the USB output is just not enough to supply either of the two types of phones you have tested.

Is your wireless router B G or N?

What is the frequency of your wireless handset 900Mhz, 2.4Ghz or 5.8Ghz?

Makes a difference
