I was in that useless 1on1 sales chat and asked if I would be able to change my number on 12/01/07.... the answer was "yes" and then I asked why the date was changed to "shortly" or "in the near future".

The response was :

"Richie: May be a bit behind schedule, but I heard a rumor that we will be offering jacks for $20 for customers who already have jacks and want to change their number on Dec. 1st"

So it looks like they will not meet yet another date... unbelievable!

Yeah, and what if we have two years? Are they gonna switch over the license?

But I agree, it is bs.... I guess their attitude is screw the beta testers ... lol and reward the latecomers with first dibbs on the new numbers....

I'm being to not mind now that there is a caller ID spoofer out there...Only thing you need is GrandCentral to stay beta and free. But still it would be nice if I could have a number thats not "Five hours away" from me :D

This is one of the reasons I haven't bought a MagicJack yet. From what I've read of this Dan guy, this is what I have come to expect. I expected this.

I really have to state that mine has been perfect except for a few outages which I could live with. Calls to landline, cell, and other MJ users has always been great. There was an issue with calling from my Verizon cell phone, but that was on their end not MJ. I have a two line Uniden cordless with 4 handsets. My land line was dropped to 9 bucks a month. :lol: I wouldn't get rid of my POTS line for all the obvious reasons, besides I've had the same number for toooooo many years. Even with power outages the POTS STILL WORKS.

Thanks for reminding about the Pinocchio joke, makes guys with big noses think twice about getting nose jobs - think of the advantages... :P

Anyway, I was talking to a sales chat rep yesterday and he claimed to know nothing about any $20 deal.... but said I should be able to change my number next week.... not holding my breath
