RTP300 Off-Hook Indicator Remains On

Post by CaptWho »

Yesterday, I finally got my RTP300 to work... Briefly.

I dialed out on it once and then dialed in from another phone which worked, but I was only getting one incoming ring before dumping into voicemail.

Then the off-hook indicator for line 1 came on and I no longer get a dialtone.

There was an "Off Hook Warning" after "Call 1 State" for a little while until I rebooted the ATA, but now it just indicates "Idle".

Any ideas?

Does anyone have any idea what might be happening here or what might be a fix? Any help appreciated.

Okay, so now the blue light is no longer on solid, it's flashing and the Info Page shows the ATA as registered.

Call Back Active: No

Call 1 State: Invalid
Call 1 Tone: None
Call 1 Type: Inbound
Call 1 Remote Hold: No
Call 1 Callback: No

From what you are describing it appears the line card is faulty and is stuck in off-hook mode if you don't have anything connected to it. I've had similar problems with the RTP300 after taking a hit from a nasty electrical storm. A quick fix is to disable line 1 and move your credentials to line 2. If everything works fine on line 2; somewhere note it with a sharpie that line card is bad. Wish you the best of luck...
That's my quarter's worth, but not enough to call someone who really cares at a pay telephone booth...

I'm not sure what happened, but I played around with the ATA, changed some settings and left the thing off overnight and when I came back, it worked, somewhat.
