Dialing to an international non-MJ number?

Post by zozo »

Hi All,

I purchased International minutes and need to call my daughter in Germany. My MJ works fine dialing USA & Canada non-MJ numbers.

Cannot figure out how to dial with MJ to her non-MJ number.

I call 011-49-xxxx-xxxx on my regular phone and get right through. 49 is the country code for Germany. What number sequence do I dial with MJ?

Is MJ international dialing working?

Amusing but confusing. Help appreciated.

Thanks,

zozo

Hi, yesterday I tried calling the Philippines using my MJ but it kept on sounding busy. National calls went through with no problems. MJ has been doing some upgrades the past few days and it has caused some inbound and outbound calls to sound busy or just sound like dead air. I have used MJ to call the Philippines from Florida and it has worked well and the calls have been very clear on both ends. Just give them sometime.

Thanks Magnum68. Guess I'll wait a while.

BTW do you dial a non-MJ number when you call the Philippines?

I call UK without any problems: 011 44 phone number ....... It announces the time you have left depending upon your balance and the location your are calling and connects your call. Excellent sound quality.

If you do not hear the announcement then there is a problem with the service and could be part of this upgrade they have been doing over the past few days.

Thanks Gary. I don't even get a ring at the other end when I call.

Last tuesday. I tried just now and it doesn't work so obviously there is a problem with the service.

Hopefully they will have it fixed soon.

If you make a lot of International calls, I will sugesst you to look at the calling rate from VOIPVOIP.com All International Call Rate
I use MJ for caling US, and incoming call, and I use VOIPVOIP with BOYD(My own ATA device: HandyTone 286) for the international phone calls.
In the future, if magicjack will give out our SIP info, I will use one ATA, one phone, no computer neded, with two SIP accounts by My SIP Switch to switch between US calls and International calls.

BUT! Voipvoip rares (at least for China, where I call regularly), are LESS with MJ!

International Calling not working

Post by scottl »

I have been trying to call Belize for three days now and was first told by MJ chat that the problem was going to be fixed "soon". I asked what soon meant and they replied in a few hours. I really need to make these calls in the next day or two. Does anyone have a good guess what their issue is and when it might be fixed? Sounds like it's more than just the very small country of Belize.

Buy this card (online, you will get it immediately in your email) for less than $20 and call Belize for only .185/min. I have used this company for years and can personally vouch for them!
