MagicJack Toll Free For Assistance Message

Post by AlaninKY »

Hi All,

I rebooted a computer at the office, which has a magicJack on it, and an updating message from magicJack came up today. The message said "magicJack Setup There was an error starting your magicJack. From Another phone please call us toll free at 888-230-0060 for assistance. Error: resolving hostname." Then there was a retry and a cancel box. The computer with the magicJack has the home addition of Windows XP SP2.

I clicked on the retry and the same error message came up. Then I clicked on My Computer and clicked on the magicJack drive and the magicJack software opened and started to work. I received and made a call and the audio was crystal clear.

I did not call the 888-230-0060 number. However, I believe I should share my experience today because others might have a problem and want to call that number and see what does happen. I sure will keep that number to try for future problems.

That number NEVER answers, has a BARELY UNDERSTANDABLE recording that tells you to go to the MJ site on the web, and has a VM Box that is always full! Figures! :D

I don't know about this Magic Jack company. Sounds like the US government is running MJ.

Yes, when I try that number I get no ring, no busy signal, nothing, just dead-air.
