Help me with T5720

Post by Northerncedar »

Had problem installing at first, then I found out about administrator function. Then MJ worked after I unlocked the green button.

I had to uninstall what appeared to be Symantec firewall. Now it seems like if I reboot the computer, it would not work under "user" log on, but only on Administrator. Which is kind of a pain, as you can not reboot it at will, and have to switch user to Admin before it will work.

I guess it would be nice to be able to reboot the thinclient at will, and have the MJ running. Now I will need a keyboard, mouse, and monitor every time it is rebooted.

My question is, how can I access the thin client remotely so I do not need a screen. I tried to download "logmein", but it would not run. What remote software should I use to access this thinclient from other computers on the network?

What tweek do I have to do so MJ will run when you push restart? Without having to manually switch to "admin"?

I use Teamviewer which is free for personal use; but VNC can also be used. Both of these allow you to remotely access the TC as if you were logged onto it locally.

If you disabled the stock Sygate firewall ( could have just allowed MJ access through it) then you may want to enable the Microsoft firewall.

To enable auto logon as admin go to control panel and the HP Logon Administrator. Enter Administrator as the user and your Administrator password. Check log automatically.

After you through with your changes re-enable the green lock and click submit to make your changes permanent.

Cannot install teamviewer. Some reason it can not extract to Z: temp folder.

It is a read only, and I can not seem to change its property.

Seems like a fixed function of the temp file, only read....

Try installing teamviewer from the run rather than the save option.

Tried to boot it using run too, but same message. Can not write to temp.

Tried to reflash the XPe image, but can not boot from usb drive, it is stuck on "Reboot now" .... It seems so easy on instruction, but I can not get it past the black screen ending with "reboot now".
