Problems since recent [August] MJ upgrade

Post by Tomguy »

MJ upgraded itself several days ago on my XP.

Soon thereafter I began to have system glitches and cursor stalls, lasting up to 10 seconds or more.

I uninstalled recent upgrades to Java, Flash and other programs I had installed.

I noticed in Task Manager that some program was running several RUNDLL.exe files and that is when the glitches occurred.

I reinstalled several previous OS partition images, back to June 10, which was a good OS. The June 10 worked fine, until MJ upgraded. Then the RUNDLL's appeared and the glitches started.

Another frequent problem since the recent MJ upgrade(s): MJ shuts down after a few minutes and seems to conflict with my APC battery backup and with other USB attachments.

When MJ shut itself down, the RUNDLL's stopped.

Also, now, MJ will not install itself on system start up. I have to do it manually. After it shuts itself down, I get a red MJ screen that says the USB is not connected. I have to unattach and reattach MJ to restart it. Even then, it will not stay connected for more than a few minutes.

These problems did not exist before the last MJ upgrades. Now, MJ is useless. If I run it, my system glitches so much that other programs become snagged in the glitches.

Regrettably, there seems to be no way to prohibit the MJ upgrade.

Also, I notice since the recent MJ upgrade that MJ lists itself as a CD drive on XP start-up and I get an error to insert disk in CD drive.
