No output/input devices are found - Fixed

Excellent site; this is my first post of many; I truly believe in the product and it`s great to see so many people helping support this device.

I had built an XP box and placed it in my server room of my house. I disabled the keyboard, mouse and video options and set a static IP to the XP box. Everything worked well for a day then I had issues with dialing out and receiving calls.

When I would remote in to the XP box I was greeted with an Error message `No output/input devices are found
please check that your audio devices are present and/or connected, turned on, and their drivers are installed, and the Magic Jack switches to headset, and headset only I could not change this to Telephone.


I found out my first issue was remotely loging in to the XP box.

By default, Remote Access brings the sound to the client computer You must set the remote option to leave the Remote Computer Sound at the remote PC.

Open Remote Desktop Connections. > Options > Local Resources > then move to Remote Computer Sound and change it to Leave at Remote Computer.

Close the Magic Jack Loader and restart the app.

Everything should be back to normal.


But we still have the issue Why is this happening. What I have come up with is it happens when the XP box is updated from Microsoft. So I have disabled the Automatic update feature. This has solved all my issues.
