800 number?

Post by canyon »

Hi all,

I am using MagicJack for my home number, but recently added Vonage for business/fax use. My question is.... how can I get a free 800 number that will forward to my Vonage #. Vonage will allow me to add a 800 number for $5/month, but I would only get 100 minutes per month.

Any ideas?

TIA

The concept of '800' number is to be a free call TO the 800 number. There is no way to receive calls FROM an 800 number that does not have $$dollar signs$$ associated with the service. Beyond that it is only a matter of relative cost, with Vonage being in the middle of the pack.
Take a look at Vitelity.com where the monthly cost is low and minutes cost about 1.5 US cents per minute. I have been a customer of theirs for 4+ yrs without a hitch
Also, you will need to provide the 800 carrier with a target phone number where the calls will be answered. Your MJ number would work fine.
There are many other alternative services...Google is your friend
Good Luck
