Got all the Credentails using memory dumo
Little help here!
I got all the credentials for my magicjack using Memory dump & wireShark. And I successfully configured Counterpath's x-Lite Soft Phone But I have difficulty configuring Counterpath's Bria Softphone software.
Bria is unable to register with proxy. And also Bria Needs UserID as in e-mail like format something i.e

XXXXXXXXXX - refers to my MJ phone number
Am i doing something Wrong?
Thanks for all you help.

in your user ID you don't have talk4free.com ... just talkfree.com
BUT ...
maybe also try the IP address from the Mj's UserDomain for this ProxyAddress, instead of the one you have there,
and maybe the UserID can be ...

if you look at the USER ID format in his SIP account page - USER DETAILSemoci wrote:User ID: EXXXXXXXXXX01 (no need for @talk4free.com etc.)
Add :5070 at the end of the proxy address as noted above...
it shows he needs to put it like it's an email address.
and logically, if it's in there, maybe the proxy address needs to be the IP address instead of the same domain name in the User ID field
I also agree with javaguy216, the port of 5070 may need to be added to the mix, either in the USER ID with ":5070" added to it (without the quotes),
or after the IP address within the Proxy Address field
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:5070
unless you have a different section in the other tabs or elsewhere, where the ports are entered

I hope MJ is reading my post
Because I really want to use your SIP service on my ATA, not your stupid jack. I don't mind paying for the service, but you're going to have to decide if you're a hardware vendor or a service provider. As for me, its too late, I'm sending the POS back tomorrow.

did you also try adding the port at the end?
:5070
and in the field asking for the proxy address try keeping it as ...
proxy1.losangeles.talk4free.com:5070
it's just a matter of putting all the info that's needed on each lines entries.
some settings windows have separate fields to enter the port and IP, or the port and proxy domain,
and sometimes some programs or hardware settings need to be combined on one line, and find the proper syntax to enter it.
This seems to be the case with the settings window you pictured above.
with all the examples you showed that were tried, you didn't say if you
tried the UserID with the :5070 at the end of the IP address

unless it's also something with the bit of NAT thing going on shown with the other setup as ...
Discovered Restricted Cone NAT Firewall
RTP: 192.168.0.5:8000
NAT: 75.142.119.222
if you can find out how the other setup is handling it you can do the same with this.
you may need to use forwarding to the same port (192.168.0.5:5060) as the other one has. I don't know.
if your router has UPnP option, turn it on, and it may set everything automatically with the Restricted Cone NAT Firewall.

Read whole thread...is MJ SIP use dead?

I can't tell if anyone is currently able to determine the
12-digit password on a new MJ.
Is is still possible to do or not? If so, how now?
Please PM me if it is a secret

isn't the password still a 20 character string?
I heard the MJ servers are now using HTTPS to log the phone in,
so you may not see anything with the dump program anymore
cain may be the way to go, I'm not sure.
where did you hear it's now a 12 character password?

No, it is not possible. You are being led to believe that the manufacturer of the product, the maintainer of the phone network, and the developers of the software, are all somehow clueless. Do you really believe random, psuedo-anonymous users have answers that must be kept secret lest the developers or telephone network provider figure it out? Really?vdot wrote:Is is still possible to do or not?
Should we believe that snips and bits and clues will make this secret available to us, but not available to the developers of the product? Really?
Wishful thinking is not an action plan. Grasping at straws is not a strategy.
Everything needed to circumvent Blu-ray, Microsoft DRM, Apple iTunes, Netflix, and a host of other technologies is available within minutes on the web. But somewhow the $20 MagicJack technology is only available as clues and whispers. Really.
No, it is not possible. Some children will be along later to provide tidbits and boast of their prowess. Here they are now.

The reason everyone is keeping it a secret isn't so that the magicjack employees don't get it, it's to keep the number of ppl that are configuring their own softphone at a minimum. If the method becomes too easy and it becomes common knowledge, advertising companies won't want to advertise through magicjack, and the whole company will not have enough money to keep themselves afloat, and we don't want that.
I'm not going to say whether or not I got the SIP credentials or not, but I will say that just because YOU can't get it, doesn't mean it's not possible

But then again, maybe you're just saying it's not possible for the same reason everyone is trying to keep it a secret, and if that's the case, more power to you.

query
Greetings,
I am trying to use the Gizmo5 (download link: http://gizmo5.com/pc/download/) client which allows you to use an alternative SIP account as Secondary account. I configured the secondary account using link http://support.gizmoproject.com/index.p ... icleid=193 .When I use it to make outgoing calls using the secondary account i.e. SIP account(Magicjack credentials), all i hear is magicjack test call message. But I am unable to reach the phone number which I have dialed.
My Gizmo5 configuration is as shown is the following screenshot:

Where EXXXXXXXXXX01 refers to my magic Jack Number & Gizmo5UserName refers to my Gizmo5 userID.
Looking forward to your expertise.

It worked on X-Lite, but like to configure my N95 too..
Related to the above post..
I used memory dump/wireshark software to retrieve information. Information retrieved from this worked with X-Lite.
username: EXXXXXXXXX01
password: XXXXXXXXXXX
proxy: 6X.XXX.XX.XXX:5070
domain: 6X.XXX.XX.XXX
Now I want to use these details on my Nokia N95. But as I said in the above post, I failed to do so.

I have my SIP info, but have a few questions. Mainly, I suddenly started getting really choppy calls and MJ support won't/can't help me. Had the unit several months and now I sound fine to people on the other end, but they are very jittery to me. Anyways I noticed while playing around with X-Lite, the call quality is fine. I can call anyone and it is not jittery. So it's obviously a problem with the crappy MJ software. Here are my questions:
Someone noted in an earlier post that X-Lite is limited. It cannot, for example, actually ring a phone attached to the MJ. Also, you cannot answer the phone by picking it up, you have to do it on the X-Life softphone...etc. Is there any software solution that can duplicate the functionality of the MJ, but perhaps without the problems?
Would getting a hardware ATA provide the same functionality as the MJ software? If so, can you recommend one? Thanks.

password?
I have the magicJack almost a year now. When I got the sip info back then it was only 4 digits, but it never worked for me on any softphone. So my question is when you upgrade the magicjack software every time does it change the password on the sip info? Also, I changed my phone number, so when you change the phone number does it change the password as well? Thank for your help/
Can anyone help to retrieve magicjack sip password
I have dumped magicjack memory and searched for password and proxy details, but still unable to find it.
Please give some Idea.
Thanks in advance.

RegisterOnProxy = 1
ProxyStrictOutbound = 1
SIPVoiceMailAddress = 0000000000

[CustomFields] CustomField11 = "0000000000"
Always give more than 0 per treatment from seeking always gives me 0

k for some reason my magic jack (just got today) is not same decie user name as statede in 1st post instructions in device manger. However i was still able to obatin it. However plugging it into the url provided did nto give me my proxy server info. However using the other method in post 6 you can obtain the IP and port of the serverv2neo wrote:got my pw.
but i cant figure out my serial im on VISTA to get my proxy server
response to v2neo
What do you mean serial?
pm me if you still need it

Re: response to v2neo
basicly to get my Proxy Address i followed instruction using fiddler to obtain it with no results I got the Physical IP number but not the url name. Using the other method mentioned by obtaining my serial through device manager and plugging it into the URL provided i got no results. Using the method in post6 i got the IP number as welldoncabrn wrote:What do you mean serial?

PS. im up and running now but still would like to know the domain name to point to instead of ip #
Re: response to v2neo
Since, you have the IP address. You can get the domain name by executing this command at command prompt/Terminal :v2neo wrote:basicly to get my Proxy Address i followed instruction using fiddler to obtain it with no results I got the Physical IP number but not the url name. nslookup IPAddress
This will let you know the domain name for the IP address. This command works on Windows / Mac/Linux/ Unix systems.
I hope this will get your near your goal.
Best,

On a related note, I did the dump and pulled out all my login info (holy cow, it was easier that I thought...). I have two of 'em and easily got the info for both.
One interesting note - the username includes your phone number. On one of my 'jacks I had changed the phone number, but it appears your username still stays the same as your original number.
I took the SIP information and have been using it in X-Lite as well as on a Linksys IP330 cordless SIP phone. Ideal when traveling internationally, you just need to get on any access point with internet access and it works great! Sound quality isn't as good as X-Lite with a decent headset, but you sure can't beat the convenience. It's no bigger than a small cell phone and charges with any min-USB-type charger (ie: blackberry, etc).
Nothing nicer than sitting in Split, Croatia using the free wi-fi that covers much of the town to call people back at home (and get calls) for free!
