Windows 7 installation issue

Post by drakeca »

I have a user (of course it has to be the chairman of our company) with a new MJ device and he seems to be experiencing many issues.

1. I purchased the device for him and configured it on my Windows 7 32-bit machine in Canada.
2. I sent it to him in Europe to connect to his Windows 7 32-bit laptop. He plugged it in and the system will not load properly.
3. After getting him to try removing the device and reconnect it the device wouldn't function for him.
4. His assistant connected the device to her Windows XP machine and it connects fine to the Internet and is able to make calls.
5. He returned to Canada this past weekend, when I connect the device to his machine it will not load up and says the device is not connected.
6. I can launch the program by manually running the magicjack.exe /scf command. The program launches and allows me to make calls.
7. If I try to run the MagicJackUpdate.exe for Windows 7 I get an error message stating "the update is unable to acquire access to the magicjack. Please reinsert your magicjack and rerun the update".

Any ideas why the system will not load properly using the Autorun (and I have to manually type the command)? Any idea why the Update program will not launch properly?

Ideallly I would like to make this as plug and play as possible as I want to make this very user friendly for him.

Thanks...
