Some calls work, others won't <RESOLVED>

Post by JMK »

Hi,

Here's the deal- I first noticed that I can't receive certain incoming calls- all of which had worked before. I answer, and come to find that callers can hear me, but I can't hear them. And the same goes for outgoing calls- I can't even hear the dial tone, but they can hear me. **But** this isn't the case with all calls- I can make some outgoing calls and the service works fine.

What I've tried

- I've rebooted the modem

- I've unplugged/replugged MJ, restarted software

- I've used a different MJ (I own two, and am having same exact problems with both)

- I've repaired my online connection

- I've restarted the computer altogether

and none of these measures are working.

Suggestions?

Thanks.

Yes I have one thing you have not tried, that is a search since MANY others are having this same problem.
In fact there is a topic or 2 on this a few lines below your post.

Yes, and that presents another issue-

I'm not seeing a clear cause of or concise solution to my problem. I'm mostly seeing other people with similar problems, and occasional bugs working themselves out, but not "cause and solution", since I haven't changed anything on my computer. I'm still searching...

Thanks again.

Thats the point... As of right now there doesnt appear to BE a solution. So rather you going crazy trying to find one, keep up with the posts of the problem till someone stumbles on one or MJ issues one. TRUST me you will read it here first!
I think one person had it clear up on its own. That can POSSIBLY point to it being a MJ server problem that will eventually be fixed... OR it has nothing to do with it and it is just a new glitch MJ now has..

While I'm sure Joe can speak for himself, heavens knows we can't get him to shut up (just joking Joe, like I'm one to bring that up), I think his point was that with about 10 posts on pretty much the exact same issue, why start another one and just not add your input to an existing one instead?

Dang Joe...you beat me mid-posting. You are too quick on the draw, or I type too slow.

I'm not sure that this will completely justify the thread, but I wasn't sitting by waiting for a hand-out, I'm still researching the issue, troubleshooting, and searching for possible solutions. I figured that since I haven't found all the same symptoms on one thread (but rather similar symptoms scattered throughout several) that I'd start my own thread, and check back from time to time.

Cool story, right?

My position is to always pick a story and stick with it, never waiver.

It can get confusing though with all the various new topics. It's like the password issue, I swear there are 25 of those, with no way to keep any of it straight.

No, just kind of extrapolating my issues/problems on other people.

Problem resolved. I guess you've just gotta wait it out until the arbitrary issues arbitrarily resolve themselves.

Exactly. At times your MJ problems "magically" disappear as if nothing happened. Server overload, maintenance, bills not paid, etc. Who knows?

Which is why I suggested he search in the first place to see there was no resolution as to not drive himself crazy.. Plus it is why I also said it could be a server problem.. Which it looks ike it was...
