While I couldn't get the upgrade to run correctly by clicking it for some reason but I did get it to run. So if you have problems you could run this from terminal and it should do the trick.
Code: | sudo /Volumes/upgrade/upgrade.app/Contents/MacOS/upgrade ; exit;

Annotated Transcript w/ tech support. Worked for me. At least for today.
Bob: Hi Sydny. MJ stopped working on my Mac.
Sydny: Let me assist you with that
Sydny: Plug in the MagicJack to the USB port of your computer
Sydny: Did you see the magicjack icon?
Bob: Yes.
Sydny: Please follow the said steps:
Sydny: Please open "Disk Utility" and tell me if you have an icons to magicJack.
Sydny: We are looking for “17.7 MB Ymax magicJack” or “17.8 MB TigerJet HD”
Bob: I have 18.6 MB TigerJet HardDisk Media
Sydny: Please click on “17.8 MB TigerJet HD” and Click on the "Erase" tab to the right of the list of drives.
Sydny: The window will now display the options for erasing the hard drive and formatting it to work on the Macintosh computer.)
Sydny: Select the Volume Format from the pop-up list as MS DOS FAT.
Bob: Erased and reformatted as MS-DOS (FAT)
Sydny: Thanks
Sydny: Name the hard drive "PHONE"
Sydny: Click the erase button.
Sydny: A window will open asking to verify the erase procedure.
Sydny: Click the erase button in this window to start the process of erasing the disk.
Bob: Done. Renamed MS-DOS format as "PHONE"
Bob: Size is now 16.8 MB
Sydny: Please unplug your magicjack then plug it back for 30 seconds.
Bob: ... unplugged ... waiting ... done!
Bob: Plugged back in.
Sydny: may I know if the dial pad up now?
Bob: No dial pad. Do I need to start the magicJack?
(Here, I double clicked on the icon and the upgrade started automatically, so I didn't need to click on the link below.)
Sydny: Please click the link to download and run the magicJack upgrade:
Sydny: http://upgrades.magicjack.com/upgrade/upgrade.dmg
Bob: Ah! Dial pad now. I hope it keeps working! Thanks.
(Bottom line: I needed to erase and reformat the MJ device as MS-DOS (FAT). Other postings suggested reformatting as Mac OS Extended. Hopefully, this fix will work for more than one day! |

Is the most recent mac version 2.0.4? I just got my magicjack in October and I don't know if I need to do this new upgrade or if I'm already on it. I can't believe their website doesn't show the upgrade's version number.
Thanks for the help guys. It's always good to find a friendly forum with knowledgeable folks. |
