hey Mark

I just finnished reading your book. I am used to wikipedia but have never been to wikibooks before. With wikipedia one can scroll down and read the entire article without clicking on sections. Is this possible with wikibooks? It would be nice.

I am not sure which of the forums it was on ...

Re: Very Nice Skype Telephone...

Good evening, neo1.

Something else that came up under the skype phone search string is this intriguing little D-Link DPH-50U Skype USB Phone Adapter . It's heavily discounted and there is a USD10.00 rebate good on purchases made through 31 December 2008. So, at USD7.99, I simply had to order one ...

Hi Mark

I am still in my 30 day trial. I usually do not return inexpensive items. I am still intrigued by MJ and wish to follow along somewhat actively. Plus, they already have my credit card info and personal info.

I was hoping to reduce my phone bills. The cell phone and land line add up. I have ...

I decided to go to Wikipedia and look up USB power:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Usb#Power

I was mistaken. It appears that USB 2.0 allows up to 500 ma. This would allow a maximum power draw of 2.5 watts.

When I checked my system earlier, MJ with my phone was using 250 ma.

It seems that a phone ...

Re: IE Explorer Favorites added to MJ interface ???

Did you ever try "procmon" to watch what magicJackLoader.exe does? That, combined with looking into your favorites doesn't generate a warm feeling with me.

Hi Mark

No, I did not run "procmon". I take your word for it. This latest piece of information plus all of the other comments I have read ...

IE Explorer Favorites added to MJ interface ???

Why has MJ added my IE Explorer Favorites list to its interface? They should have nothing to do with MJ.

If I am not mistaken, the USB port allows up to 250 ma at 5 v. This is 1.25 watt. This power must supply the MJ itself as well as the attached phone. My MJ runs pretty warm. If the current draw were to exceed 250 ma then I could see MJ burning out USB ports depending on the computer and attached ...

If MJ is not associated with Google then why is "Google" on the MJ ...

I bought it before I started looking for information about it on the net.

I recently ordered mine directly from MJ and was apparently sent the old one as well. Is there any other way to tell the version other than the white chip?

Thanks :)

Addition: I went back and re-read the thread. Mine does not have the white chip but did come with the cord. Perhaps there is a 3rd ...

AZ,

No problem, actually I was telling him to go get one of those. What I made and assumption about (probably wrong) was he had one of the OLD Original AT&T "Trim-Lines". Anyway you know what I am talking about the old phone that had the big solenoid bell ringer and the 2 X 3 X 1 inch touch tone ...

Hi Mark

I already bought a new wireless phone and MJ works fine with it so this is no longer an issue. I have an ASUS motherboard with 4 USB ports on the back panel. I am not using a hub. I looked in Device Manager and I have only two USB devices active when I plug in MJ. One is my keyboard which ...

No. There are some instructions to (http://www.uninstallmagicjack.com) explaining how to remove registry entries, delete disk directories. I believe the first set come from MJ chat ...

I'd hate to think that's what MJ is doing, or ALLOWING. But the whole "phantom" issue and experimenting IS yet another huge red-flag. This IS what malware vendors claim to do, each and every time.

Is magicJack spyware?

I just bought MJ but I am afraid to use it because I don't know if it is spyware or not. They already say MJ monitors phone calls for advertizing. MJ is associated with Goggle which is advertizing supported.

Why does it have to install 2 pseudo drives on my computer?

Do we know that MJ does not ...

Re: Outbound Calls Now Forcibly Terminating At 60 Minutes...

I am a new MJ user. I have several concerns about MJ especially the spyware aspects and now the limitation on "unlimited" calling (which was the ad that I based the MJ purchase on). I feel I am the victim of unfair and misleading advertizing. You might want to go to Amazon and read some of the ...
