Running on an old a$$ Micron laptop. 400mhz P2 with 256mb ram. Tweaked for major power savings. The laptop idles in complete silence and stays cool. Sound quality is just as good as the ATA. I hear no difference and the people I speak with hear no difference.

My guess would be that their Anti-ATA list is static and does not check upon each login. Must be that they are running a scan of their Asterisk logs every so often and any registered non MJ user-agents get added to the Anti-ATA list. Next step is giving me a headache.

That sounds like an application call and not anything going thru the SIP protocol or tcp-ip. Unless you are seeing this in the networking communication to their voip system with the dongle plugged in, I dont think it counts. For ...

Does anyone know if the serial number of the dongle is being sent, is there a way to sniff the packets and reveal absolutely everything?

I disagree that the User Agent is needed. I used my MJ SIP info with a pbx website and another with my ATA and neither one had the User Agent info in it. The ATA had whatever the default info was and there was no place to even enter it on a PBX Website so User Agent string is not needed or should I ...

I agree. If your mj service was blacklisted, it would not work at all if you used the usb dongle or the ATA it would not matter.

If it was a MAC address issue then we should still be able to use softphone programs like xlite because the xlite would run off the same computers the MJ dongle does.

I think what was meant is that the MJ device had a mac address. MJ would not be checking the mac address of the pc the dongle ...

What if they are filtering the vendor code portion of the MAC address? then they could block everyone using ATAs... Does anyone out there have an ATA that allows you to input a different MAC address???... or have a way to spoof the existing one with another??
