Yep, tried that. Still no recognition- my best guess is that it's still on (F) but that drive path is no longer functional, so the computer doesn't see it.

Thanks for the help, Mark. The CD player is not there, so it's possible that it crashed during the changes, or that it needs to be reinstalled. Since it's plug&play OEM, I'll dis- and reconnect it to see if it gets found. More later.

That's what we did, but the CD player does not show up in device manager, and reassigning the magicJack drive only changes which drive appears in Windows Media Player- the CD player is no longer recognized by the computer or WMP- it seems the (F) Drive link is so broken that the CD Player is lost!

MagicJack ate my CD Drive! It was on (F), which magicJack took over. With 'Higher Level Tech Support' (HA!), we moved magicJack to (M), but the CD player still won't show up in Windows Media Player- only CD Drive (M).
