Do Magic Jack's online auto-upgrades need to be committed for them to be permanent? Seems like every time I reboot my t5710 it does an upgrade. I'm starting to believe it is the same upgrade, but I thought the upgrades were being saved on the jack itself or does it need write permission (to be ...

You will need to enter BIOS (hit Del key at boot) and change the boot order to USB HDD (or sometimes USB ZIP) first in order for it to boot from the DOK to load the image. Also, the stock image will write onto a MicroDrive, but it will not boot properly due to the boot sector and partition ...

You could try to lower the RAMDISK size to 16mb and increase the EWF to the highest size allowable, but it may still give you errors. If that doesn't work, essentially you'll have two choices, either upgrade the memory to 1GB or replace the DOM with a CF adapter and a MicroDrive and enable Pagefile ...

Not Enough memory the application has stopped

Purchased an Epson Workforce 500 on Black Friday. It was very inexpensive and I have always had success with epson products. The other reason for the purchase was for the fax capabilities. I had done a bit of searchiing on the forum, not enough, and figured I wouldn't have too much trouble setting ...

This looks like a very interesting add on to MJ. Just wondering if there is any possibility of doing something to improve the ability of MJ to be used for Fax send and receive? Or if it is even possible. From what I have read on the forum some have success and others do not. Currently I am having no ...

I had MJ installed and running just fine for quite some time (close to a year) then it gave me nothing but trouble. Wouldn't stay running, dropped calles etc. Bought a powered Usb hub just for MJ and haven't had a problem since. As a matter of fact the call quality is as good if not better than ...

What is EWF ?
my MJ's wont start on a reboot either .
I have to unplug and replug them in to get them to start after booting.
Could this EWF be my problem as well ?

Thanks
The cf cards in thin clients have finite read writes. T o prevent premature failure of the drive EWF prevents changes from ...

I installed a 4GB Hitachi microdrive in another one of my T5710 and this time took some photos while I was doing it; so I thought I'd share my experiences with you folks.

I have been doing some forum searches as well as google and found some open source options for cloning, CloneZilla, specifically.

I have time as I am waiting for Microdrive and adapter to arrive.

XPe works great on a MicroDrive as-is. You could clone your DOM onto the MD and then resize the partition. Then disable and remove EWF and enable the Pagefile.

Installing any flavor of a full XP install would require the initial installation on a standard IDE drive first, then edit the .inf and ...

The problem with this is that you rarely know when MJ pushes updates to the dongle. So it can happen that the update is pushed, TC reboots and the update is gone, cause you have EWF on. Preferably to keep EWF Off, imho
agreed, however I was under the impression that one of the reasons for EWF was ...

In order for the magicJack update to stick, you must write to the DOM and let the system reboot. While magicjack is running it should take the update but as soon as the system reboots the update is gone. It takes a manual approach but it is an easy process.

Reboot TC
let magicjack take update ...

MJ, MJ Suite and a TC

O I have a Neoware e90. When I first received th unit MJ ran with no problems. Recently I have had a hell of a time keeping MJ running. It will start and then close on it's own. I have no idea how long it stays up before it closes. I have set the usb ports to not go to sleep so that is not the issue ...

Any MicroDrive should work but you will need a CF to IDE adapter as well. The adapters come in 40pin and 44pin versions. It depends on what IDE interface your TC has as to which one you choose. I don't have the CF adapters available, but the Hitachi 4GB MD's that I use in my TC's run under $8 on ...

The CA2 should work fine, just upgrade the DOM to 512 and reflash. 256 memory should be fine. You could also run any flavor of XP full if you replace the DOM with a 4GB MicroDrive and not have to worry about EWF. Hope this helps...

Isn't the purpose of the pop-up screen to help serve ads and therefore defray the cost of the service?
By preventing this from happening, isn't that going to prevent the company from realizing those advertising revenues and forcing them to raise the cost of the service to us?
If you like the ...
