Audio vs. Testyourvoip.com

Post by larbell »

All:

I'm curious what score folks are getting on TestYourVoip.com vs. perceived audio quality.

As for myself:

Line: Verizon DSL 3 MBPS; TestYourVoip.com Score: 3.8; Quality: Mostly clear, with some jittery voice.

I'm asking because I think I've tuned everything there was to tune on the box, and I'm just wondering if I've got the best possible audio quality for my Verizon DSL line.

I get a 4.3. or 4.4, but the number doesn't always seem to correlate to quality. As Stewart pointed out one time, the test is for a comparatively short period of time relative to a phone conversation. Recently, however, no one has been complaining about the echo which had been persistent, even with the TJ cancellation utility.

I believe several other users have also posted that the sound quality lately has been great. It sure has been for me!

I am also using a Belkin USB Powered hub for Magic Jack.

My sound quality is great and my sound card on my pc is turned all the way down except for the phone button on the sound card.
