I have been reading the forum to see how many other people have had this problem and nobody seems to have a solution, I posted this info:

Privacy Manager intercepts unidentified calls and requires those callers to indentify themselves, However as of July 1, 2008, Magic Jack numbers are not being recognized for some reason.
(1). When I dialed my primary number (Pots) line using magic jack, I get another dial tone.
(2). I have also dial another number that I am sure It has Privacy director, same result. (All i get is another dial tone).
(3). I have chatted with Magic Jack tech support, and of course everyone understands they don't know anything other than to tell u to
run the silly update, which did nothing to solve the problem.
(4). I have tried the spoofing software, same result, another dial tone. this is weird.
(5). This worked before when i call my pots line, on several occasions and now it does not even go thru, all I get is another dial tone. (WEIRD).
(6). I can dial any other number that does not have Privacy Manager from Magic jack and it goes thru.
(7). I can also dial magic jack from my pots line that contains the Privacy Manager Service and no problems.
(Cool. And (No) I have not blocked my magic jack number using Privacy Manager.
(9). Turned Off Privacy Manager Service on my pots line, dial the number still got another dial tone, This (SUCKS)..!!!!!!!!!!
Nobody on this forum seems to have a solution, can anyone of you guru's and magic jack experts tell me why this is still happening ?

Problem Resolved !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ok.. I think i have finally figured this mess out:
(1). On June 7, 2008 My area code 205 became available according to MJ.
as i posted on in the forum (Posted: Sat Jun 07, 2008 12:21 pm,Post subject: Time to availability of 205 & 256 Area Codes?).
(2). Change my MJ number from 404-XXX-XXXX to my 205-XXX-XXXX.
(3). As of July 1, 2008 less than a month, Magic Jack somehow changed my current area code (205) to a Pending area code, (WEIRD) huh ...lol
Since I have a number that is pending this will explain why the outbound
CID is not showing up when I call numbers that have the privacy director
service.
Thanks for your help anyway.

I have the same issue, dialing a number it tries to dial at first and then gets back to the dialtone. I am dialing a 510 area code prefixed with a 1. When I got to the software, it says unrecognized number. that number is my cell phone. My magic jack number has a 702 area code dialing a 510 area code and it says unrecognized. Tried dialing a different number other than my cell and it works.
Can anybody shed some light?
Thanks

same issue ?
(2) Same issue ? mmmmmmmmmm.. Why are u dialing a "1" before the number, that will not work with magic jack, u only need to dial the 10 digit number.
(2) is the number you are dialing a Sprint or Verizon number ? because there are some issues with sprint calling Magic Jack numbers and verizon.
510 is active according to MJ.
and so is 702.
