To cord or not to cord? That is the question

Post by MyOwnMJ »

Just wondering..do you prefer to use a corded or cordless phone with your MagicJack? I use a cordless phone, but I see benefits is both? Mainly, the corded has better sound quality, the cordless offers better mobility.

I thought about adding a splitter to have both options, but then I don't want to add any clutter.

I'm not sure which cordless phone you're using but both of mine work great with my MJ's. One is a Uniden DECT 6.0; the other is a Plantronics (I forget the nomenclature) that uses a headset. I also use an inexpensive GE corded phone, on occasion, because it doesn't require power. If I'm in a hurry, I'll use it instead of hooking up the cordless.

I guess that's kind of a long winded way of saying, with the right cordless phone, quality should be on par with your corded phone.

Perfect sound quality with using a Uniden 6.0 cordless. Never had any outgoing or incoming sound issues while using this type of phone.

I'm using a Unidien model EXAI5680 (5.8 ghz cordless and answering machine). I do notice the quality sounds better going corded for me.

I am and have always been partial to Panasonic phones, and in my opinion they have never let me down since the dinosaur age..

However for Magic Jack purposes, I recommend a cordless phone with DECT frequency of 1.9 GHz, it won't get interference from a home wireless network or other electronics and provides ease of use and portability.

Panasonic (Still just slightly ahead of their time)..

I started with a corded phone, which everyone should have at least one of, but switched for the mobility. I hate to sit in one place and talk when I have things I need to do.

Regardless to what type (Cordless or Corded) we use, The quality depends on many things and I am sure u know that already, A lot of people out here are having problems because they do not have enough power from their USB and have not thought about getting a powered hub. :!: :!: :!: :!:

Yeah I agree ^ You can get a shitty corded phone that sucks or a really nice corded phone. Same thing with cordless. So they both are good, but you need to get quality crap. Of course half the cordless phones are shit and for corded prolly only 25 percent of em are shit. SO you could get lucky with getting a random corded phone. But yeah, I use all cordless phones in my house (A uniden that came free with Sunrocket and a Panasonic 2 headset thing) both with no issues.
