HP t5700 thin client - can I add a NIC card ?

Does anyone know if I can add a NIC card to my HP t5700 thin client ? I know I will not be able to close it, does anyone know if it will work. For some reason the network connection seems to have a problem. The green led constantly flashes and the yellow led is on permanently. I've tried a new cat 5 cable, swapped ports on the router (my other 2 computers are working fine), even tried another router. I even re-flashed the TC.
Has anyone tried a NIC card ?

One option is to use a cheap USB wireless 802. I use one on one of my T5710's since there is not a cable handy.

You could also try a USB/Ethernet converter.

I didn't even know such a beast existed. Well that gives me 2 options to go for and I can forget the NIC.

Either get something thats wireless or I reccomend the USB ethernet crap. It would me more reliable and faster.

The t5xx thin clients also have a PCI slot in them. However, to utilize it you have to use a PCI expansion bay specific to your model. The one that fits the t5700 and t5710 can be had for about $25-$30 on ebay. I used one of these on my t5700 because its now my monowall firewall and I didn't want to use USB.

If USB works fine for your use, go with it because its cheaper.

The USB solution is fine for me, I'm only using the TC to get the Magic Jack off my laptop and not for anything else, so I'll see if it works out OK..
