Try this.....

1. Please restart your magicJack. Menu>Advanced Users>Restart

2. Go to Control Panel>Network Connections>right click on your active Internet connection> select Properties>scroll down to Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click it>click on Properties. In there check the little circle that says ”use the following DNS Server address”. In Preferred DNS Server type in: 67.90.152.122, in Alternate DNS Server type in: 67.107.71.186 click OK and OK. Now restart your magicJack by going to Menu>Advanced user> Restart.

If the above doesn't work, try powering down your computer and router for three min.

Other than Microsoft's firewall, do you have another firewall program running?
You may have to turn it off before Magicjack can be activated.

The Not So Magical Magicjack!

Post by dovetail52 »

 :? Thank you for your replys, but the crazy thing is that I have tried about everything, I think, besides backflips, and it still just keeps coming back to either error 3 or 4! I am wondering if it has to do with the Vonage Router and wonder if something should be plugged in somewhere else?! I am just so bewildered over this, that is why it is probably something small and stupid!! I really don't want to send it back and I know that it's not the Magicjack itself because I ordered two, and they do the same thing!! Thanks for your help, guys, I really appreciate it!!Image

Vonage router?? Does your internet connection come to your computer via Vonage VoIP router? If so, it's most probably the reason for your issues - the Vonage router (which is also an ATA) will not allow VoIP traffic to go through (at least not with default settings). Try to connect your computer directly to your cable or DSL modem bypassing the Vonage router, and see if it helps...
