Voice mail indicator
anyone know if there is a way to know you have a VM on your phone without checking email or calling your number. I am testing out MJ and have my calls forwarded to my new number. With Verizon, I would get a light blinking on my phone to let me know I had a VM and not anymore. ANy ideas?

For me the vmail indicator is not reliable - it only worked a couple times. And when it worked, it turned the softphone indicator green, and lit up the physical phone indicator. Although when it happened last time, it did not go off after I deleted the message, and I had to restart MJ in order to turn VM light off.
Most of the time though there's no indication at all - not on the softphone, not on the physical phone.

Hmmm... I must say... I don't much like the taste of this shoe leather....
I have to take back my previous post about this working. Teddy_B describes it more accurately.... the indicator is unreliable.
I tried to call and leave myself a vmail message to test the indicator... the voice mail service wasn't even answering...but that's a different problem. When I did get through, I left myself a voice mail...at exactly 1:30pm EST. That was 80 minutes ago and the little vmail indicator hasn't gone green yet.
I did get the email noticiation that I have voice mail (pretty nifty you can listen to your vmail via email). That email came immediately upon my leaving the messae. I would say that hit my email inbox withing about 60 seconds of me leaving a message.
So.. for what its worth... the little indicator is unreliable, but email notifications seem to work.

Why is it that i cann't get the voice mail off so that i can receive incoming calls it worked fine before i went into voice mail. I cann't get my phone to ring it goes directly to voice mail without my phone ringing. The vmail light is always on when I check my mj screen it use to be off... Anyone have any ideas how to fix this problem.
..........JUST A THOUGHT NOT A SERMON.........
Maybe you've got the MJ in "do not disturb" mode, which causes incoming calls to go directly to voicemail? If that's enabled, the upper middle window in the softphone (where "ready to call" appears) will show a red dot and the letters "DND" (also in red). You can enable/disable DND in the dropdown list of options that appears when you click "Menu."CHRIS IN MD wrote:Why is it that i cann't get the voice mail off so that i can receive incoming calls it worked fine before i went into voice mail.
