Outgoing ring takes over 30 seconds
Ok, everytime I dial a phone number, it takes around 34 seconds before I can hear an outside ring. It's not terribly offensive but anyone that uses my phone has to be aware of it (I've got a sign taped to the handset). Does anyone have a solution?

I am working with their "tech support", they are trying to get me to submit a bug report but the method they gave me is not working.
Quote:
Yes, please do the following. Before placing a call with your magicJack, hold down ctrl and alt on your keyboard and press F7 once, then release ctrl and alt.
Now place a call. When the call is done, hold down ctrl and alt again and press F7 twice this will bring up a bug report.
Explain the problem in the text box then select "Create bug report and I will send it manually" and then click submit and save the bug report. Now attach the bug report in an e-mail and send it to us.
End Quote

I've used Live Chat to try and get this fixed. I can still make calls, it's just that the 35 second delay is annoying as hell.
Jennifer: Hello, how may I help you?
Rich: After dialing a phone number, either from the handset or the Magicjack application, there is exactly 35 seconds of
silence before I hear the handset or application begin it's outbound ring. The phone I'm calling does ring after the 35
second period and I can talk to the person I'm calling once they answer the phone.
Jennifer: Thank you for addressing your concern to us.
Jennifer: Please click the link to download and run the magicJack upgrade (applicable for both XP & Vista):
Jennifer: http://upgrades.magicjack.com/upgrade/upgrade.exe
Rich: I have already done that. My new version is 1.80.447.1
Jennifer: Please try it again, Rich.
Rich: I just did it again and I still have the same issue.
Jennifer: Please unplug your magicJack and plug it back after 2 minutes.
Rich: Ok, I have tried it again after unplugging the Magicjack for 2 minutes and the issue persists.
Jennifer: Okay.
Jennifer: Please disable your firewall.
Jennifer: Please click the "Start" button then click "Run" then type "firewall.cpl" then please disable your firewall.
Rich: Ok
Jennifer: Thanks
Rich: Trying again.
Jennifer: Please open your Internet browser then click "tool" and you will see the pop-up blocker option from there and
disable it.
Rich: I am still getting the 35 second delay.
Jennifer: Thanks.
Jennifer: Please go to "my computer" then look for 2 magicJack drives, right click on any of those drives and look for the
format option and click it to format that drive.
Rich: Ok
Rich: Done
Jennifer: Is it working?
Rich: No, I'm still getting the delay.
Jennifer: May I have your magicJack number please?
Rich: 717-xxx-xxxx
Jennifer: Thank you for that information.
Jennifer: Please wait while I check that for you
They then had me shut off my PC and router for 5 minutes then restart them..... the issue persisted. I contacted live chat again.
Fritzy: Hello, how may I help you?
Rich: Hello, I just got finished talking to another representative about my issue. It is: After dialing a phone number,
either from the handset or the Magicjack application, there is exactly 35 seconds of silence before I hear the handset or
application begin it's outbound ring. The phone I'm calling does ring after the 35 second period and I can talk to the
person I'm calling once they answer the phone.
Rich: Would you like the chat log?
Fritzy: I'm sorry to hear that your encountering problems like that with magicjack.May I knowm when did it start happen
Rich? and have you try to check if the "DO NOT DISTURBED"is uncheck?
Rich: It has been happening ever since I received the Magic Jack. It is just very annoying to wait 35 seconds before the
phone begins to dial. The "Do Not Disturb" is not selected.
Fritzy: Just to clarify, did you receive any error message and can I please have your number?
Rich: No I don't receive any error message, just the 35 second delay on the outbound ring. Your associate had me upgrade
the software, disable my firewall and then finally they said they reset the server and I was to shut my PC down and turn
off my router for 5 minutes. My number is 717-xxx-xxxx.
Fritzy: Thank you for the information.I apologize for the inconvenience that caused you
Fritzy: We are doing some upgrades, our engineers are working to get them completed as fast as possible. We apologize for
the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.
Fritzy: Can you please try to unplugged your magicjack now for 15 sec for the last time
Rich: Ok
Rich: I'm still getting the delay.
Fritzy: May I kniow if you add 1,the area code before the number? And are you calling from the same number?
Rich: I am not adding 1 to the number I use the format xxx-xxx-xxxx. I have called cell phones, local numbers and out of
state numbers. All have the same delay.
Fritzy: May I have your fullname and email address?
Rich: Yes, my name is Rich XXXXXXXX and my email address is [email protected]

Well, I got my new "magic jack" and guess what, it takes about 30 to 35 seconds for a call to start ringing at the other end.
I have one more day of troubleshooting, then it is back to cancel the service, I need a phone that can call somebody NOW, not in 35 seconds.
I have tried various area codes, same problem.

My 30 day trial is ticking away without it ever having made a call in less than 33 seconds, tried 3 or 4 area codes including my own, still the same.
Keep you posted.
