I wrote this message as a reply in another area on this site, I just wanted to post it as a new topic to see if IM alone in my experience with no Majic Jack service a day later after the upgrade.
IM not so sure that upgrade was a good thing. It actually knocked my sound out and I had to goto audio to restore the correct sound audio system. And secondly and more importantly My MJ stopped working today, I have had it since May 08. Im suspicious of that so-called upgrade, because now IM getting two error messages in RED a day later after upgrade.
below are error messages Im now getting:
1. "MJ must be plugged in to the USB port" (when actually its already plugged in).
2. "Storage Broken"
funny thing - I have a dial tone, but no service coming in, and can't dial out either. So I have no idea on what the hell has happened; but one things for sure and that is I got an upgrade yesterday and my MJ isn't working on the following day, hmmm - Strange to say the least! Im wondering Is this just my case alone?
Could the recent upgrade(8-18-08)have actually degraded me?

I have a similar problem. The update partially knocked my audio out on both Vista SP1 and XP I can hear the dialtone, but as soon as the dialer starts, I loose all sound. The call goes thru, the spoofer works, I just can't hear ringing, anyone answering, or anyone calling.
I've read through the old posts on similar threads and have tried:
-makinging Tiger jet the default sound
-turning off QoS Packet Scheduler
-Adjusting the volume on softphone
-Removing the mjusb folder
-With tech Suport I have run setup
Nothing has helped
I would appreciate any advice on getting the sound fixed. Please, this is my only home phone and I need it as I work from home.

UPDATE: When I tried to switch from phone to headset/other, MJ froze with the following error message. Any thought?
