Problem with Thin Client T5700
I was able to get a new memory. I got a 512MB PNY Optima PC2700 DDR 200pins. On this forum they said is 100% compatible with the T5700. I got the 1 MB Transcent DOM flash memory. When I start the thin client it start and shows the HP logo at the beginning but stays there forever. It does nothing. I hit all the buttons on the keyboard and nothing happens. It just freeze with the HP logo. I change the memory back to the old 256MB and the TC boots normally. I checked on the PNY web site and it says that this is the memory that I need for the T5700. Do I need to upgrade the BIOS? I checked the BIOS and it is version 1.07. Please help.

Problem with Thin Client T5700
No, I had not. Please tell what should I do and how. Thanks.
You can re-flash with the latest standard T5700 XPe version from HP and then proceed to set your thin client up to run Magicjack, or you download stroths version 1.2 which has most of the tweaks already made and will make your T5700 virtually plug and play for MagicJack. I believe that both options are described in the link that booyah5 referred to above.

Problem with Thin Client T5700
I have the procedure of how to install the Stroths. The problem that I have is that when I install the 512MB PNY RAM memory that I just bought and start the thin client it does not boot. It shows the HP logo that appears when you start the thin client but stays there forever and does not boot. I wait for a few minutes and hit all the keys from the keyboard and nothing happens. I upgraded the BIOS to the latest one but the problem continues with no improvement. If I change the memory back to the original 256MB that came with my thin client the thin client boots normally.
OK, so that I have this straight in my mind.
1. Did you install a new Transcend 1GB DOM or did it come with the thin client?
2. Are you saying that if you leave the new 1GB DOM in the T5700 and just swap out 512MB RAM for the old 256MB RAM, the T5700 will boot to a XPe screen rather than hang on the HP screen?
3. What is the BIOS boot sequence set to?

Problem with Thin Client T5700
Here are the answers:
1) I installed a new 1GB Transcend DOM. I did install the Windows Embedded in the new 1GB DOM with the 256MB memory on it because there is no way that the thin client boots with the 512MB memory.
2) Yes, if I use the 256MB memory the thin client boots normally. If Iuse the old 192MB and the 256 RAM the thin client will also boot.
3) Because I installed the windows the BIOS will go through the whole sequence. If I use the new 512MB the thin client never boots.

Huh, definitely sounds like you did everything right. Maybe a bad stick of ram or maybe T5700s don't really like PNY despite what's been said, dunno.
I have a T5700 configured the same as yours, only difference being my RAM is Samsung. I'm not sure what to say. Do you have a laptop that uses PC2700 that you could test your RAM in? It seems that either The T5700 doesn't like the PNY or the PNY is shot.

Can't get to SETUP, F10 not working. No keys work.
Hi Marlonsito,
Did you resolve your problem? I am trying to set up a T5700. It came with 256/256. I installed 512F/612R. I'm having the same problem, when I start the TC, it sits at the white screen with the HP logo. Nothing I press on the keyboard does anything. Pressing F10 doesn't get me to setup (I'm sitting here with a USB key ready to reflash the memory.
Before I installed the 512/512, I started up the TC with the original 256/256 and it worked fine. The keyboard and mouse worked fine then.
There are jumpers on the 512 flash DOM, I've left them in the default place. Transcend says they are for master/slave, but doesn't give which jumper for which function.
Help anyone?
thanks,
-Tony

Update. I have two of the thin client units and was able to do some incremental upgrades to see if I could isolate the problem. I think it is the 512MB memory I bought for the upgrade. It is 333 while the original memory is 266 (speed). The 512 MB DOM works fine. So now I have units with 512 flash memory and 256 ram and am in the process of flashing the units. with just the stock XPe SP 2 installs I have 300 MB of free space on the flash memory.

I Hope everything goes/is well with your TC. I just purchased a HP Compaq T5700. And in the specs it says that it has a 512/512 max capacity for flash and ramtony wrote:Update. Processor: Transmeta Crusoe TM5800 1 GHz
Flash Memory: 192MB(max 512MB)
RAM: 256MB(max 512MB)
Memory Speed: 400 MHz DDR
Graphics Processor: ATI RAGE XC - 8 MB
Sound card: integrated
Compliant Standards: AC '97, SoundMAX Cadenza
Network adapter: integrated
Data Link Protocol: Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, PPP
Ports:
4 x USB - 4 pin USB Type A
1 x serial - RS-232 - 9 pin D-Sub (DB-9)
1 x parallel - IEEE 1284 (EPP/ECP) - 25 pin D-Sub (DB-25)
1 x network - Ethernet 10Base-T/100Base-TX - RJ-45
1 x display / video - VGA - 15 pin HD D-Sub (HD-15)
1 x microphone - input - mini-phone 3.5 mm
1 x audio - line-out - mini-phone stereo 3.5 mmt
You've probably got it figured out by now but, the T5700 will nicely handle a 1GB flash DOM even though the specs say 512. I believe that they can be finicky on the brand of ram but, I've got a 512 Samsung module that works great in mine.zmaddmattz wrote: ...I Hope everything goes/is well with your TC. 1Gb Transcend with PNY 1GB, causes problems
My 5700 took the Transcend 1Gb ROM just fine, But it locks on the HP Splash screen when I put the PNY 1Gb RAM in... (I've eliminated the possibility that the chip is bad)
Anybody tried this configuration with any other 1Gb RAM chips on the 5700?
BTW, combination works fine on my 5710 and 5720 machines.
I'm thinking maybe a BIOS flash might be needed...

BTW the max amount of ram for the T-5700 series is supposedly 512mb, not 1gb. Some people claim to have gotten a gb to work, but I haven't been able to on either of my two tcs.
depends on the ram module. I have a 512mb PC2700 DDR 333 200pin Trancsend module in one machine and it's been working great for the last year.
However I recently got another TC and got a Kingston 512mb PC2700 DDR 333 200-pin module and it get stuck at the boot screen (just like the above). My guess is that the TC-5700 is picky on what kind of memory it likes to accept and it prefers to have PC-2100/DDR 266 type memory or something that is close in terms of compatibility.
I'll try searching for an bios update and let y'all know how it goes.
