How many people have had their accounts terminated my MJ?

Post by angel-78 »

I am wondering how many people have had accounts terminated by MJ for whatever reason? I have seen people say that if you use an ata they will terminate you. I have seen one post that states the above. Have people got terminated for any other reasons? I f you were using an ata or softphone what do you think let them know that you were doing that. And was it since the recent software update. Are this terminations real or just rumors.

Thanks,
Manny

I have a Thin Client which has Windows XP installed. I would like to install the full version of XP. The Thin Client also does not block ads. It's essentially a low powered computer. So I don't believe a Thin Client is a violation of magicJack's terms of use. But using something that allows bypassing of a computer that uses a monitor is probably why some accounts are being terminated.

My very first MJ account got cancelled when I used my SIP package through my Blackberry. That was in the olden days when the password was only 4 numbers long.
Haven't tried it since then since it has become so risky. I cannot afford to lose my MJ number since it is on my business cards and yellow pages advert.
Good Luck

you know, if the MagicJack execs were smart.... :P

they'd charge 5$USD per month for allowing people to use the SIP info on any VoIP WiFi phone, as well as keeping the MagicJack on the computer at home for the 20$USD per year.

It would generate loads of cash for them, maybe more than the ads would be, and it would allow legit use of the SIP info with their approval.

someone... tell the peeps at the MJ company... :D
unless they're reading it here, now!

We made all kinds of suggestions like that (i.e., tiered pricing plans, etc.) in the original "Official" Forum ... and it was shut down (for whatever reasons).

I don't know how well MJ listens to suggestions. Or how good they are at taking freely-given best of breed ideas and shoehorning them into their set plans within a human lifetime.

Let me see...from my experience and knowledge, I think I can get suggestions implemented just as fast if I give them to my dog.

Too bad MJ appears to have a poor business model. As long as the infomercials bring in new customers, who cares about use old timers.
