I get it 100% of the time. Garbled Max Headroom annoyance. I use an HP Turion 64x2 AMD laptop. I prioritized MagicJack to the highest level. I have the processor set to highest performance. I don't have any internet programs taking bandwidth and no known programs hogging the CPU. I do see the a process called Deferred Procedure Calls that starts taking up 40% of the CPU when MagicJack is in a call and the CPU goes to 85% or higher. Seems like desktops work better for some reason..

I have a suggestion...get an Ooma, it is the best "modification" you can do to make your calls clearer. Of all the things that I have tried over the past year to make MJ perform, this one is it!

Start by turning down your microphone volume on the soft phone and adjusting the volume in your control panel. If it works, you should be able to clear up the echo. Some have the issue of the softphone and control panel working in sync, but i'd still give it a couple of tries to see if it helps just in case.
Windows Vista and Laptop with XP SP2 on the road. Occasionally, a Mac if my Windows machine isn't working.

I have done this and nothing works - I have 3000/500 con - so
this is not the problem -- run

AMD 6000+
XP Pro
Raptor HD
2 gig's of ram
512 vid card

Have less problems with Skype ...

The whole reason I bought a magicjack was to save money, not spend almost $300 on a VOIP line. Besides, my calls are perfectly clear with the magicjack.
