Plug in to a router instead of a pc

Post by johnnyr41 »

Is there a way to connect MJ directly to a router instead to a pc? Maybe using a print server or other divice that will allow a conversion from usb to ethernet? Anyone has any idea or attempt to do it?

Won't work, needs windows XP or Vista.

There are drivers and things in DirectX that are necessary for the MagicJack dongle to work. In face, you can get MagicJack to work without the dongle if you want to use a microphone/speakers or headset.

according to the infomercial they say you don't need to install anything for this to work. So I have a router that has a USB port. I get a dial tone but so far I cant dial out. I will keep playing with it

You don't have to install anything but the requirements state clearly that it needs Windows (XP, 2000, Vista) or a MAC to run.

You don't need to install anything - but it will install its software automatically.

So in essence the informercial is lying and not lying at the same time. You don't have to install, but an installation must take place.

You need Win XP or Vista to make it work. (I think there is a Mac version now too?)
