I seem to have cleared up my problem, I had a filter installed because someone suggested the MJ worked alot better with one installed. Well I removed it and got rid of the usb extension and have had no problem since.

Ever once in a while I get loud beeps on the line, not like incoming calls. They are in one minute intervals, and just make one beep. Sometimes I get choppy calls and have to call them back. Other times when I call someone and they pick up, for a second, I hear a ringing noise similar to a 1980 bell ringing phone. It last a second and it happens after my phone ringer stops ring the other person. Probably something built into the magicjack with the last one. I have heard some weird noises...but those are all I can remember.
no problem
Still no screeches or tones

Every once in a while I will hear a loud beep-buzz type noise that blocks out what the other party is saying. It is very short duration. I have also heard the bell ring when the other party picks up. I don't mind the ring, but the buzz is very loud and happens too often. I had the usb thing connected to an old computer through a 1.1 powered hub. I changed out the NIC and installed a 2.0 interface card hoping it would improve both the choppy sound that some callers complained about remove the buzz. The loud beep-buzz still occurs. I would like to know how to fix it. Could it be in the USB Magicjack thing?devinmccloud wrote:Ever once in a while I get loud beeps on the line, not like incoming calls. Well I experienced screeching noises and voices from a friend of mine. She called me on Verizon cell phone while outside in the pouring rain. I don't know if this is your situation, but I'm sure has has to do with the rain and the signal. For the price of the magicjack, I can't complain. Be patient, I'm sure they will fix these minor bugs. Remember ma bell was around for a long time to perfect their service. I have a felling , a lot of these aren't user related. I run a stand alone PC with all memory and processor speed designated for magicjack and still get these noises.
