Hi,
I just got MJ a few days ago and other than receiving faxes it works perfectly on my Vista desktop.
However when I plug it into my laptop it tells me that it can't connect to the internet. I've turned off the wireless connection and enabled the ethernet cable connection and I do have internet access, but even after restarting MJ still tells me that it can't connect to the internet.
I've disabled the wireless in case it's trying to use that and it might be a problem but it doesn't seem to help any.
The laptop runs XP, and I'd really like to get MJ working on the laptop since it's substantially cheaper to leave it running 24/7 then it is to leave the massive workhorse desktop running all day and all night long.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
MJ works on desktop with vista but not on laptop with XP

(LOL) Well, I can't explain it, however now when I just tried it again and plugged it in, it's installed and working correctly on the laptop.
Hmmm, go figure, I only tried it about 30 times yesterday to no avail, and only had to try it once today to get it to work. Hmmm, go figure.
Thanks for the reply though.

Thanks, I completely forgot about that, and sure enough all the USB hubs were in power saver mode and allowed to be turned off, they are now all disallowed to be turned off to save power as well as few other things that I thought shouldn't be allowed to be turned off unless the power goes off here, which won't really matter for about an hour or so since it's also now plugged into an APC battery pack for when the power fails along with the cable modem and router so that we can still use the phone briefly when we have brownouts or blackouts during the hot summer months.Thunder wrote:Make sure that your usb root hubs are not in the power management mode. ( Allow the computer to turn this device off to save power).
So again, thanks for the advice, it was appreciated.
