New Mac update

I noticed today they just updated the magicJack app for Macs. Apparently, it does not fix the called id issue. It looks like the one on Windows, and it allows you to see a call log and create contacts.

Any other new or enhanced features?

Mine stopped working after the update. Anyone else have this problem?

Took a few minutes but mine works fine, even have a contact list now and a record of called numbers.

I installed the upgrade and got the caller logs and contacts working but lost the sound quality which really started to break up. Caller ID was still not working. I am told they are working on another Mac upgrade and to keep looking for it. It is supposed to allow Mac users to download upgrades directly instead of trying to find a PC to upgrade the jack.

The problem is they rarely ID their upgrades or notify you so you don't really know if you are downloading the right one.

I use fast user switching and now when I switch to another user, I can not start the app if I had already started it under my account. The magicjack mount disappears. I would really like to find a way to run it as a service like the windows users can.

For the last few months, MJ has been working well for me on an Intel MacBook Pro with Leopard 10.5.5.

Today I tried to make a call on my MJ. When I started the MJ app, the MJ window said “ATTENTION! You are receiving a very important upgrade within the next 60 seconds. Please do not dial during these upgrades ”. Then the window said “Starting, please wait.... 000-000-0000”.

After a minute or so of waiting, the MJ window said “Please connect to the Internet and double click here [error 3] 000-000-0000”. It said this even though I had a good internet connection at the time, and was in fact connected to the MJ web site (and later to this forum) at that very moment.

When I double-clicked the MJ window as asked, a blank MJ Registration window appeared for a second, then disappeared, and the MJ window said “Starting, please wait.... 000-000-0000”. Then the window said “Please connect to the Internet and double click here [error 3] 000-000-0000”.

And so on. And so on. Repeat.

I still get a dial tone from the phone that is connected to my MJ, and numbers dialed on the phone show up in the MJ window. BUT... no call is sent.

So now my MJ no longer works because it automatically tries to download the new “upgrade”, and the download does not work. Has anyone else seen (and solved) this problem with the new upgrade?

When the upgrade first came I updated my Macbook intel with Leopard 10.5.5
and it worked fine but later I tried to update it on my Mac Mini with the same OS and it did the same thing yours is doing. Look forward to see if anyone has a solution to this.

I'm having the same problem with Dennett with a macbook intel. anywork aorund already?

Okay figured it out sorry. The update says " updating in 60 seconds" It actually updated in about 8 mins. now working.

Is there anywhere to download the older Mac upgrade from? I don't have any Mac software on my MJ dongle, so it can't install an older version on my Macs to upgrade. MJ chat support said the Mac upgrade isn't done yet.

Plug it into a Pee Cee to update it.
Then back to Mac Viola!
