MagicJack 24hr online chat tech support no help maybe u can
I have spent many hours chatting with tech support at MagicJack and have resolved nothing. My calls are dropped usually only when longer than 15 minutes. Many times I will attempt to call out and after about 5 to 10 seconds after dialing the softphone will indicate, "Ready to Call". I will not get any ringing tone just dial tone followed by dead space after dialing the number and ending with Ready to call. I have been told by callers on occasion they have made several attempts to call sometimes hearing nothing and others getting a loud busy signal then going to voicemail. Any thoughts?

I've had that problem at times. I got the impression it was the equivalent of "all circuits are busy, try your call again later." Sometimes just retrying 5-6 times and it goes through.wireman wrote:Many times I will attempt to call out and after about 5 to 10 seconds after dialing the softphone will indicate,
Regarding rebooting, losing calls after 15 minutes, people not hearing you, etc. Try a powered USB hub. A lot of people have said it fixes a variety of problems you wouldn't think could be related to lack of power to the device.
Also try the device without the MJ supplied cable. I've found my unit is sensitive to being moved around. It will reboot. It's a loose connection between the cable and the device. If I move the device left/right, MJ dies.

Are you using a 2.4 ghz phone along with a wireless router? (Doing so can cause problems with your wireless router.)wireman wrote:I have spent many hours chatting with tech support at MagicJack and have resolved nothing. Mark,
I have also found the MJ device will beboot when touched. In my case I have attributed it to static.
Shuffle your tennies across the rug and touch your MagicJack and I can almost guarantee you will get an instant reboot of the device.
Do the same thing and ground your self out to your computer case or something similar and you can touch your MJ and not get the instant reboot.
