Post by gooney »

MJ limit to 5000 minutes a month? Can someone cinfirm this? I heard it through the grapevine.

My MJ paid for it self and much much more... 5000 minutes a month is still an awsome deal.

Starting about 3 weeks ago people began reporting they'd been shut off from making calls due to excessive use. Nobody's heard what the actual lim it is. From what was described by two people, it sounded like it was significantly lower than 5000 minutes. Maybe 2000.

If that's true, i don't have any problem. I was afraid it was much less. At .01 a minute, it still saves quite a bundle.

Maybe magicJack is looking at incoming vs outgoing calls with some type of math calculation to determine if magicJack is making or losing $$$ per call. :?:

Point is maybe one customer can have 5000 minutes a month and not get banned because they get enough incoming calls to off set the out going calls while another customer might get banned with 2000 minutes a month because there is not enough incoming calls :?:

Come to think of it I have friends I call that have magicJack numbers. Do calls from a magicJack to another magicJack count against this unknown minutes per month limit :?:

I really think it comes down to if you are abusing the system and incuring a lot of costs. MagicJack to magicJack calls would cost nothing over top of the infrastructure so it would probably not be counted against usage. I can see if you are making outgoing calls all day and night where the costs would add up significantly. My guess is the users that got shut down were using autodialers and possibly even running a call center.
