Credit Card Denied

Post by rhenryv »

Twice in the last week I tried to add funds to my account for international call. I got "Processing Request, This could take a couple of minutes, Credit Card Denied" message on any card I used, but still charges wher posted to my bank and credit card. No minutes. The first time magicjack support have me call the bank and credit cards and look for the transaction numbers. It took me a good amount of time but after several chat sessions, some calls and three days later I had my money back. Today the same happened and I had to start again the process or getting my money back. That or quit magicjack.

I think magicjack is a very good service for the money, customer service is not excellent, but a lot better than other big companies. The thing is I don't have the time to fight a $20 charge every two days and the service kind of gets really expensive with this issue. Any advice on this, please?

I really wish magicJack would allow payment via PayPal for long distance and renewals.

Any answer on this, please. Magicjack keeps taking my money not giving me any minutes. I am getting ready to post a complain to BBB, but sure I don't like going that way.

I assume you have tried a different card? I have gone into stores and ATM and have that sort of thing happen. Plug in a different flavor card and Eureka everything works like it should.

BUT I have never had a card not work and still get billed for it. Now that would upset me know end. Especially when I think about the numerous times this happens (one card not working and just plugging in another) and me with my total resistance to keeping track of what I spend and where I spent it. I may have paid a couple of bogus bills like you received and was never aware that I just got ... screwedled.

When I got the "credit card denied" error I thought it was a communication error, tried two more times, and then used a different card. When I got the same error I stopped and checked my accounts. All transactions when through and I got billed, but no minutes were awarded. Cards customer support didn't see any errors. I lost $40 to $70. Yes, it piss me that with that money I could have a paid a better phone service.

I also have the issue with the garble talk while running on a dedicated p4 pc connected to 10MB cable. I have tried everything said in this forum with no luck.

Well, I will just move on, throw the magicjack in the garbage and make sure that I discourage anybody talking about getting this (dis)service. To good to be true. Sounds more like a pyramid. First ones to get in get excellent services and bring in three, four more people that will pay $40 and get no quality service do to poor infrastructure.

rhenryv,

Just contact your Credit Card people and they will make it right. Credit card companies are having a hard enough time as it is right now. They don't need fraudulent charges and pissed off customers. But even in good times any time I have complained to a card company - they usually make it right in short order. Also almost always they will tell you they are logging a dispute and don't pay the charges on your card until they have time to investigate it.

Also remember that MagicJack can not afford to get in trouble with the Card people either, it is their life blood to doing business online.

PS - don't bother with the BBB they are no bodies, and have absolutely no power and certainly can't help with interstate affairs. Call your card people they are the ones holding all the cards (pun intended).

Also to all those that are going to jump me about my attitude toward the BBB I am sure they have helped you and a few others but in general they are a waste of time.
