I tried on a couple of occasions to call my mother. She hears phone ring picks p phone and hears nothing. Meanwhile on my end all I hear is dead air. As I type this message I just dialed my work number, same 718 area code as my mother, same result. However if I dial my cell phone, area code 516, same as my Majicjack area code, call goes through.
What gives?

Sometimes things just stop working for 2 hours (or 4 days). You learn as a MJ user to just wait awhile.
I assume this used to work, and stopped?
If you can't tolerate outages like this, I recommend getting a vbuzzer.com and/or skype.com "pay as you go" account. It costs $10 to fund the account. You have to make a call every 3 months or so (I forget) to keep the funding from rolling off.
I do that as a backup. Calls are about $0.015 per minute.
