Low volume on which end? Your end? The calling party's end? Have you tried another phone? Have you tried using the softphone with a headset or a microphone?
If you're using a handset, I would try a powered hub. This seems to fix a lot of problems. You could isolate the problem by making a call with the softphone, using a headset connected to the computer's mic/speaker ports.
You didn't answer one of the questions -which end has low volume - your's or the other end? Also have you tried changing the volume controls found in the softphone while in a call to see if that makes any difference? When you've changed phones have you tried a corded phone vs. a cordless phone?
Volume low on my end. I have changed the volume on the softphone during a call, it changes slightly. I have tried different phones. The softphone is louder than a regular phone.
Usually the complaint is that the other end's volume is low. Since its on your end, it could be a USB problem - not enough power to the MJ dongle. Can you try it on another computer to see if that makes any difference? Or you might want to try a powered USB hub which seems to solve a lot of these sorts of problems.
For fear of giving away my own "duh" moment, give this a shot--it may work, it may not.
The magicJack integral volume control only affects the "master" volume control. However, magicJack volume is also controlled by the "wave" volume control.
Well, I'm stumped. Have you tried the lame tech chat to see if they have any miracles? Since you say that using a headset is ok, I wonder if you have a bad MJ dongle? If you have not had it too long you might be able to get the tech chat dweebs to replace it. Worth a try anyway.

There is a chance your powered USB hub doesn't provide enough power either. It's probably less likely than an integrated computer port. But, people have said that even some (or many?) powered USB hubs come with weak AC adapters. Your adapter should say how many amps or milliamps it provides. If you have nothing else plugged into the hub, then MJ should get all of what's available.
But, with your problem, it's always been due to not enough power. I can't think of what else would cause it. I think this would be a reason to try a different powered USB hub. Just to help rule it out.
I have tried all of the information I have been given. Spent over 11 hours with the so-called tech support chat... They are worthless to me.
I will try to get them to replace the dongle, if possible.
