Timestamp on voicemails is 3 hrs off

Post by rkp »

I'm in the middle of a 30-day trial of MJ. So far, not too bad. A few hiccups here and there, but all-in-all fairly satisfied.

The only issue I have w/ my MJ is the timestamp on all my voicemails is 3 hrs off. I live in Seattle (PST) and have a Seattle prefix for my MJ number. However, all my voicemails are stamped 3 hrs later -- as if in EST.

I've participated in 3 different 'Chat' sessions w/ the MJ folks, but they're clueless. I don't have any firewalls on my systems. They all have static IPs behind a router. I have 5 Public IPs and have an policy forwarding UDP 5060 - 5070 to the PC where the MJ is installed.

Anyone else encounter this and/or know of a resolution?

Thx.

From what I've seen, you don't need that. The MJ softphone opens connections to port 5070 on the MJ proxy1 server. And, a port in the range of 10000-20000 on the MJ vms1 server.

The MJ servers don't open connections to you.

From the magicJack FAQ:

"The time stamp on voicemail cannot be changed at this time."

rkp, the voice mail servers are in Florida. They don't care what number was called, they use their own local time.

As noted above, for now that is just the way it is.

Thanks to each of you for the quick responses. I apologize for missing that fact in the FAQ.
