I have the MJ for 4 days now and have yet to have a day I have not been in chat support with MJ...they seem to fix it, then back to the same thing.
Here is my problem -
I get a dial tone
Dial the number I wish to call
It never rings out on my end from my MJ
The number I am calling rings
The number I am calling gets complete silence, and I never even know they answered.
This process is the same on both the soft phone and my regular phone.
-Support has had me upgrade their software
-Turn my firewall off
-Turn my anti virus off
-Had me turn firewall back on and give exceptions to a couple of ports for MJ (really thought this had fixed it)
-They have had me remove and reinstall MJ from the Hard Drives and -CD ROM in Device Manager.
-They have had me switch USB ports on my computer
I think that is about everything they have had me try.
The support has been pretty useless overall. I keep having the same problem.
I do not understand why incoming calls work flawlessly and outgoing are so problematic.
Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Incoming is good...outgoing not so good.

I would check in your Device Manager (right click on My Computer, click "Manage" and go to Device Manager) under the USB branch for any devices that have a yellow exclamation point (!). If so, do this: http://www.phoneservicesupport.com/no-d ... t4240.htmlfootballref wrote:I do not understand why incoming calls work flawlessly and outgoing are so problematic.
Otherwise I'd try a powered USB hub. That has been reported to fix a lot of problems including outgoing sound volume and quality. But, if you're sure you experience the same thing when disconnecting the handset, and using the softphone with a headset, then I don't think a powered USB hub will help.
The only other thing I can think of is to force MJ to use a different proxy (as described on the wiki). Just to see if it's something specific to the proxy your area code is associated with.

Also, I have used the MJ on 3 different computer with 2 different phones...same problem

That's even more reason to try switching proxies (described on the wiki FAQ). It sounds like your problem isn't specific to your environment.footballref wrote:Also, I have used the MJ on 3 different computer with 2 different phones...same problem
Also, this guy seems to have had the same problem as yours. http://www.phoneservicesupport.com/a-fi ... t4433.html You might give that a swing (even if you're not on Vista). But, I wouldn't think you'd have this problem on 3 computers.

The softphone will change your proxy if it has difficulty connecting to the proxy it normally connects to. You can force this to happen by following the wiki FAQ on the subject.footballref wrote:Will MJ change my proxy or is this something that I must do on my own?
