Audio when I make calls but not when I receive them.

Post by tmatutat »

I can call out and me and the recieving party can hear each other just fine. But when someone calls me, the phone rings, and I pick it up, I can't hear them and they can't hear me. What could the problem be?

If you're using a phone attached to the MJ USB device, the first thing to try is disconnecting the phone, and try receiving a call using the softphone with a headset.

Some routers are buggy and seem to have trouble with incoming calls. You could disable your router ("DMZ" mode, or connect directly to your modem) and test an incoming call. Be aware that this can expose you to external risks. Depending on how long you do it, you may need to use a software firewall.

I'm experiencing the same issue, and here is the log on their response:

Maya: We are doing some upgrades, our engineers are working to get them completed as fast as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.

Maya: Please try it again later, Aldo, this will be back in normal in a few hours.

Aldo: so this isnt my magic jack this is your Infrastructure?

Maya: Yes, Aldo, I apologize for the inconvenience.

I wish they would send out a notification of an outage, i know the service is cheap priced, but its still a service.

Same here. Can make calls w/o problem but incoming call's :( No audio nothing. I spoke with MJ support over live chat and the answer is They have some issues and i should try 24h later or to contact them again. I tried everything but still no audio. Hope somebody will solve the issue ASAP
